MAL008 is the 1969 TVR Tuscan V8 LWB SE originally displayed at the New York Auto Show. The original owner purchased it off the Auto Show floor. It is the only Tuscan V8 LWB SE ever built with an automatic transmission and 302 V8 engine. Now it is fitted with a Ford Toploader 4 speed gearbox and 289 V8 engine. A correct date coded 302 V8 engine and automatic transmission are included with the car if the owner wants to rebuild them and return the car to original specification.
Only 50 V8 powered Tuscans were built between 1967 – 1970. MAL008 is one of only 21 Long Wheelbase (LWB) Tuscans.
MAL008 was completely restored in 2008 and has only collected a documented 4,000 miles since that time. Total mileage from new is 16,500 miles. At the time of restoration, the original gold factory colour was changed to Dodge Viper Blue. The car needs nothing and is ready for a long drive.
MAL008 is the subject of a one- hour video documentary “Bat Out Of Blackpool”. The car has won numerous concourse awards including the prestigious “Out Of The Woodwork TVR Club Of America Concourse Show”, 1st place Best In Class in Griffith & Tuscan V8 class 2008, 2009, 2013 as well as Best In Show Overall 2008, 2011.
